Day 27

Cross Keys United Methodist Church

www.crosskeyschurch.org

Scripture:

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens:2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to morn and a time to dance, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, 6 a time to search and a time to give up , a time to keep and a time to give away,7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

Reflection:

Looking back on the seasons of my life I see record highs and lows. Warmth and cold, rain and sunshine; Winter death and spring rebirth.

These are things I have no control over. The times I tried to control my world myself usually lead to these extremes.

As with natures seasons if we let the creator control our seasons they will flow and regenerate.

The final season may be on our horizon, we never know.

Prepare yourself for a new, eternal life-giving spring in heaven.

Reflection Written by Scott Sweigert

Prayer:

Dear Jesus we pray that our final season in this world leads us to an eternal life giving spring in heaven with you. Please grant us your mercy to plant seeds of faith to prevent others from entering an eternal winter of death and torment.

In Jesus's name, we pray, Amen.

Please take a moment to consider what God is speaking to you through the scripture passage and the devotional reflection.

Then, take some time for prayer—pray for your own soul, and lift up

ourselves to hear Jesus’ healing words and to be immersed in His peace.

You can also listen to the music provided below as a backdrop

for your time of prayer.
